Changes to 5 Towered Airports

Recently Airservices changed the arrangements of airspace ‘ownership’ surrounding 5 towered airports allocating airspace previously tower controlled to the overlying centre to provide a surveillance service instead of the tower procedural service. The airports included Hobart, Launceston and Albury so please be aware of the changes (which are reflected on the current charts) and ensure you are requesting clearance from the correct unit for your current position and altitude. Be aware that you may be transferred to the other unit for your clearance due to traffic and other requirements to facilitate your clearance.

Please feed back any comments or questions on the new procedures to flight.ops@pointcook.org so we can follow up with Airservices if required.
