  • Good evening everyone,

As you are aware, Stage 4 restrictions came into effect at 1800h on Sunday 02 August 2020 for metropolitan Melbourne. As a result, EAV which is located at Tyabb, will not be available

  • The committee would like to advise all members that the Annual General Meeting will be held:

  • Given the air base is in lockdown to non essential personell we have been able to relocate aircraft to make them available in line with the current government restrictions.

We now have a 150 (EYU) on the apron

    • If you live in Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire you need to Stay at Home.
There are four reasons that you can leave home:
Shopping for food or other essential items
To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
For exercise (outdoor exercise only, with only one other person or members of your household)
Work or study, if you cannot work or study from home

As flying for recreational purposes doesn’t fall into the 4 reasons above, I take it only people living outside Melbourne and Mitchell can use the aircraft.
Additionally, as Tyabb is in the restriction zone, EAV shouldn’t be available for use until after the restrictions are lifted.

  • Well with lockdown again back in some parts of VIC, we have to pass on a huge thanks to one of our members, Philip, for sharing with us his incredible adventure away in October last year.

  • Well with the airfield works underway, the Hangar area has not been fenced off at gate 1. This means for access to aircraft, it is now through Gate 2.

Until we can get a final solution, a guard will need to

  • As things are starting to wind back up around the country, the base are full steam ahead with works to improve the airfield.
