Good evening club members,

As you are undoubtedly aware, Melbourne’s metropolitan areas and Mitchell Shire will be placed back into Stage 3 lockdowns at 2359h this evening. As such, RAAF Point Cook has advised that only ‘ESSENTIAL’ personnel will be allowed onto the base where our club aircraft are normally based.

The Point Cook Flying Club Committee met this evening to discuss what this means to the club, and to plan a pragmatic way forward in which members not affected by these lockdown measures, may still use club aircraft. Committee members will be conducting further information gathering over the coming days, and once agreed on a plan, we will announce as appropriate. In the meantime, the club aircraft have been listed as unavailable on Goboko, our club aircraft booking system.

Finally, the club voted this evening that due to the current COVID-19 situation, the 2020 Annual General Meeting will be held online. Club members will be able to join using a platform such as Google Hangouts, and participate in the meeting from the comforts of their own home.

The committee will send out further details on the 2020 AGM shortly, but the date we currently have scheduled is 1900h, 31 August 2020 (a Monday night).

We understand that this is a tough time for everyone of our club members, and we are working hard to ensure that we are able to maximise the availability of club aircraft for those that are able to use them, within the bounds of the currently published lockdown guidelines.

Please continue to stay safe, and I look forward to catching up with you online at our 2020 AGM.
